Welcome to the Inside BPS Special Meeting Report for the Banff 2022 Pork Seminar.
Each year, this special report takes delegates and their industry âinsideâ the developments of the Banff Pork Seminar (BPS). It is produced by Meristem publishers in partnership with BPS.
It’s a different year for the pork industry in many ways and like last year, BPS 2022, January 11-13, will once again offer new registration options for delegates. For the first time, BPS will be hybrid, with the choice of attending in person and participating virtually.
Some things will stay the same, says Ashley Steeple, longtime seminar coordinator. The first is that the BPS organizing committee has, as usual, attracted an exceptional group of speakers. In addition, the design of the seminar plenary sessions and breakout sessions will continue in the hybrid format. Plenary sessions will be webcast, breakout sessions will be recorded and provided after the seminar.
Once again this year, the information in this special report – blog posts and news articles – will be a good place to follow developments, Steeple says. The information is designed to be available for use by media and industry, with credit at source.
Here are the key things Steeple wants delegates to know when planning this event.
COVID protocols 19. One of the first questions people will ask themselves when considering attending in person is how the COVID protocols will affect the seminar experience. “It’s a fluid situation, but we have posted information on our website with details on how we plan to ensure the safety of delegates and continue to have a pleasant experience.”
