PINEVILLE, La. (Wildcats Media) – Richard Blackaby, president of Blackaby Ministries International, will discuss the tools needed to produce a Christ-centered business environment at the 6and Annual God in the Workplace Lecture Series, Monday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Guinn Auditorium.

Blackaby, who is senior pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Winnipeg, is president of Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and has authored or co-authored 35 books.

“In a society that faces many challenges today, Christian businesspeople are uniquely equipped to lead businesses that not only make profits, but also bless staff and customers,” Blackaby said. “Christian business leaders can join with God as he deals with people in the marketplace.”

LCU President Rick Brewer said Blackaby will provide practical and timely approaches to building trust into the marketplace.

“We are delighted to have Richard Blackaby as our special guest at this year’s seminar,” said Brewer. “In these unstable times, we must remember the sovereignty of our God over all that affects the market.”

Kenny Holt, dean of the Ray & Dorothy Young School of Business, agreed.

“Having Dr. Blackaby speak to our students and our community is a critical part of fulfilling our mission,” Holt said. “We strive to know Christ and to make him known. We spend over 90,000 hours of our life at work, so we need to be equipped for the ministry of the marketplace.

Blackaby holds a doctorate in Church history from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, an M.Div., a BA from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in history, and an honorary doctorate from Dallas Baptist University. He lives with his family in Atlanta, Georgia.
